LAITA Design takes over the construction of House 2713, a four-story townhouse that accommodates a three-generation family and is located in South Vietnam. The residence covers a narrow plot of 5 by 21 meters expanding vertically and presenting a slim facade covered with a layer of lightweight, low-cost external blinds. The featured screens provide shade for the entire structure without obstructing the views of the surrounding lake landscape. The design follows a simplified construction method and applies basic finishing materials opting for economical solutions. The project attends to possible future adjustments of the internal arrangement allowing each space to be repurposed and re-organized according to the living conditions of the users and economic situation changes over time.
The interior of the second floor arranges the living room, kitchen, dining area, and common sitting area as an open continuous zone providing optimized circulation, ventilation, and visual continuity. The second level serves as a communal area suitable for gatherings. The front and rear windows and skylights are efficiently integrated into the construction distributing natural light throughout the structure both horizontally and vertically. Apart from the main living areas that encourage family interactions, the design team organizes smaller intimate spaces for the users’ private needs. The ground floor stands in direct contact with a large courtyard and backyard, while the rest of the levels enjoy outdoor terraces overlooking the scenery.
